Thank you for the kind words from a few people in this thread.
The reason my presence is reduced is simply because my main purpose for forums is to laugh, and many of the people who appeal most to my sense of humor moved on. I followed.
The issue of racism/homophobia on the forum is always an interesting one. While the reasons for the exodus are not as simple as some people wish, there is no denying racism/homophobia played a role. I will make these general comments on the subject FWIW:
I was an original mod here at...

Yeah I know. This just brought back some frustrating memories of a bunch of people trying to spread information of WW taking free shots at players, and not only did SBR not seem willing to listen, it was like Justin and robmpink had their arms locked and were running interference on WW's behalf.
I had one person who found SBR so suspicious, they sent me their complaint complete with supporting documents with instructions that Justin be kept out of it. I didn't know know what to do with it. At one point, I asked some mods at the...

Saw these in the last few days. Brief reviews:
Invictus - Clint Eastwood directed this fascinating glimpse into the leadership and vision of Nelson Mandela at an extremely difficult time in history (early 90's South Africa). And this is integrated with a very conventional sports situation (rugby in this case) which would seem eye-rollingly corny and formulaic - except it really happened.
It is not flawless. It is all a bit too neat and tidy with the way the races are shown to come together. I generally like Matt Damon but didn't think he worked here as the...

Good afternoon. Scrooge here. I am putting about 8 seconds of thought into this so it is probably open to debate. Feel free to argue with me just bearing in mind that you will be wrong every time.
There is a billion times more to consider on the WORST list than the BEST. So much insipid dreck at this time of year. I absolutely will NOT be posting YouTubes of the WORST songs.
So let's start with that, the WORST 3 CHRISTMAS SONGS
1) Santa Baby - fukk off with that shit!
2) The 12...

It is remarkable how much the industry has changed since then, the biggest thing being UIGEA. Back then there was a feeling of comradery among many players and wanting to help each other and band together against shills, scammers, STIFFs and general nonsense.
Now post-UIGEA, it is really in every knowledgeable gambler's best interest to have as much bad information floating around as possible - at least in public forums. Having lots of losing players is essential to the health of the industry and they are not as plentiful as they were when American players were more...

I have a few random thoughts.
I noticed there is a Scrubs spin-off now. That got me thinking. Scrubs was not a great show. It was excessively cutesy and there was a tendency for all the characters to have the exact same personality and quippy speech pattern. As the seasons went along, these tendencies got worse. I would get the odd laugh out of it when I caught it but it was not the kind of thing I would tape if I was going to miss is.
And for all that...

There are a few ways to look at it.
From my point of view, I don't like EOG because I bet on sports for a living and I value good industry information and discussion. I dislike the support they have shown for bad books since the forum began - and the false and/or twisted and/or omitted information over there by people up to and including Shrink.
I don't know why I care. I know when they are lying - and I know not to trust them if I'm not sure - so it's not like I...

Well, when I say it keeps dying, this is the 4th time it has happened since I got it 3.5 years ago.
I go to start it and it is dead. It needs a boost. I assume it has to do with the fact that I sometimes go for entire weeks without driving so it just sits in the underground. But it was new when I got it - a 2006 Impala - so I feel like it shouldn't behave this way. They even replaced the battery one time.
But it just happened again.
Unfortunately...

I don't pay enough attention to Nicky to even guess what might be on taco's list. And I feel good about that.
The only thing I can think of would be when he used to whine and whine about being slow-payed by BetMania. He would say he had been waiting 3 years to be paid. The book had only been in existence for 2 years at the time - and no one had been having real problems for more than about 6 months - but whatever.
So at the time that BetMania was going to merge with Phoenix, they...

I have a very good long-time friend who is female so I may have some insight into this.
My female friend definitely likes gabbing. She talks to her girlfriends on the phone and they regularly get together to watch Survivor, The Amazing Race, American/Canadian Idol and that sort of thing.
It so happens that, like me, she is a recovering alcoholic so she goes to regular meetings and that leads to more gabbing. And she has sponsees and that leads to a certain amount of gabbing too.
She is always doing needlecrafts which she usually...
